Happenings at GJA
Be on the lookout for the very first Gotlib Gazette! Our News Elective took a different route this trimester and have been gaining high level skills as they interviewed, researched, and put together a school newspaper. They will be distributed on the last day of the trimester’s electives in the upcoming week.
World Kindness Day is coming up next week and will involve a deep dive into the true meaning of chesed (kindness) throughout the academic, physical, and social-emotional development of our students and staff.
Getting in touch with the Head of School. Message from Dr. Brocha: As I continue to travel for some Shabbats and have working days remote, please know, I am right here for you! I am in touch with the staff directly throughout the day and happy to set up a video or phone call with any parent.
Be on the lookout for an incredible Parent Education Series that is being shared jointly from GJA and the ECLC under Shalom Orlando. We are thrilled to be collaborating to be able to bring our parents the best opportunities!
Keep checking back in our lobby as we continue with our rebranding! Sneak peek pictures of what’s coming will be shared…. Check out the upcoming & flyers for more!
From the Head of School – Dr. Brocha Baum-Margolese
In this week’s Parshat Vayeira, we learn about the guests that Avraham welcomed although he was recovering from his brit milah.
As we look toward and prepare for World Kindness Day, we look to emulate that incredible trait of chesed from Avraham Avinu. At GJA, while focusing on our academic excellence, we recognize that to truly be excellent, our character traits need to be in line with the highest levels. Recognizing our strengths, working on our weaknesses, reaching out to those around us in acceptance, love, and support, and truly embodying the concept of chesed- kindness in all we do.
As the Orlando community Jewish day school, it is our role to be the influence of kindness, excellence, love, and acceptance to all of those around us!
Wishing everyone a peaceful Shabbat filled with giving and receiving of true chesed,
Dr. Brocha
